Norma Johnston - Director

Norma Johnston is a senior manager in communications management and has 20 years' experience in commercial public relations, magazine journalism and charity communications at a global level.

Norma has held senior posts in the charity sector as Communications Director for Amnesty International UK and UN agencies including the World Health Organization.

As global Communications Director for Plan (formerly Plan International), an international children's development agency, she devised Plan's first global advocacy campaign on Universal Birth Registration with a successful launch at the UN supported by Kofi Annan and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Five million children in the developing
world have benefited since the start of the campaign.

An accomplished public speaker Norma has appeared many times on international and national TV and radio.

Norma is a Trustee of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association where she holds the Communications and Marketing and Northern Ireland portfolio.

Isobel Hunter - Associate Director

Isobel Hunter has over 20 years' experience in both strategic and operational Human Resource Management. She works in the areas of organisational development and design, leadership development and HR transformation and is an experienced facilitator and coach. She has worked as Human Resources Director for English Heritage and HR Director for Plan (formerly Plan International). Isobel's career has had a strong international focus specialising in working in the not for profit and voluntary sector. She has travelled extensively in the developing world.

Clients include British Council, Merlin, YoungMinds and the International Community of Women living with HIV/Aids (ICW).

Isobel is a Trustee of the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) and of RedR. She also chairs selection panels for judicial appointments on behalf of the Judicial Appointments Commission.

Christina Cullen - Associate Director

Christina Cullen is a media relations expert with over 10 years experience of providing public relations and media support within the charity and public sectors. She has worked on a local, national and international level.

As Media Officer for Plan International, an international children's development agency, Christina has managed press events including a press conference with Archbishop Desmond Tutu at the UN Headquarters in New York, and has organised and taken an array of international journalists on press trips to Africa and Asia as part of global media campaigns.

Christina specialises in developing media strategies, writing press releases, selling-in stories to journalists, organising media interviews and delivering training on how to handle the media. With an extensive contacts list, Christina regularly places stories in media outlets including the BBC, The Guardian, The Times, Third Sector, and many more.

Christina is Committee Secretary of Reading Deaf Children's Society and is Editor of the organisation�s quarterly magazine.

Richard Lane - Associate Director

Richard Lane is Web editor for The Lancet medical journal and is responsible for editorial input to www.thelancet.com

Richard introduced podcasting to The Lancet in 2006 and now produces and presents audio podcasts for The Lancet weekly journal and four sister monthly titles.

Before becoming The Lancet's Web Editor three years ago, Richard spent 10 years in media communications, as The Lancet's Press Officer, Media Manager for Guide Dogs, and as Press Officer for the Royal National Institute for the Blind. Richard has also been a trustee of Guide Dogs for seven years though will be stepping down in the summer of 2008 to pursue freelance media and online projects.

Kelvin Cantafio - Associate Director

Kelvin Cantafio has over 20 years of senior-level national and international experience in IT for Business and the Non-Profit Sector, including 13 years as the Chief Information Officer and Director of IT in a multicultural working environment.

As CIO for Plan (formerly Plan International), an international children's development agency, he implemented an IT governance model and chaired numerous project boards to help lead IT and organisational change initiatives. He also implemented a secure IT infrastructure and operating model to securely connect over 7,000 staff in 300 offices in 66 countries, and developed an integrated IT strategy to ensure alignment of IT with business goals and objectives. Kelvin used his knowledge in Organisational Development to successfully lead IT transformation in a complex, global, multi-cultural environment.

Kelvin is a published writer and presents to domestic and international audiences. He is the recipient of several prestigious international awards for IT innovation, including the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) Global IT Excellence Award. A case study presented by Kelvin in the category of Visionary Use of IT, was included in the Permanent Research Collection of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History.

Kelvin is a founding member of NetHope and is currently serving as Co-chair. NetHope www.nethope.org is an information technology consortium of 24 leading international non-governmental organisations (NGOs) with a combined annual revenue of over US$30 billion.
